For fraud, waste, abuse, or misconduct at federal agencies other than FHFA, or which do not involve Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, U.S. Financial Technology, LLC (U.S. FinTech), Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks), or the FHLBanks’ fiscal agent, the Office of Finance, contact information for the appropriate federal Inspector General’s office can be found here.

For complaints involving:

  • A mortgage which is guaranteed by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Ginnie Mae, Housing Subsidy Fraud (Section 8), Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECMs), Housing Discrimination, Public Housing/Housing Authorities, contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-Office of Inspector General please (LINK).
  • Unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices by banks, lenders (including mortgage servicing issues), and other financial institutions, or Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) violations, contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) (LINK)
  • A mortgage which is guaranteed by the U.S Department of Agriculture, contact the U.S Department of Agriculture - Office of Inspector General (LINK).
  • A mortgage which is guaranteed by the U.S Department of Veteran’s Affairs, contact the U.S Department of Veteran’s Affairs – Office of Inspector General (LINK).
  • An alleged violation of the Hatch Act, contact the Office of Special Counsel.
